More than 30,000 visitors at book fair on opening day

Director of the firm “Beogradski sajam” Andjelko Tripkovic said today that on the initial day of the Golden Jubilee of the International Belgrade Book Fair more than 30,000 people visited, an increase of about 7,000 over last year’s first day.

Speaking at the occasion of the opening day of the 50th year of the Belgrade Book Fair, Tripkovic said that the number of publishers and visitors at the fair is increasing from year to year, he added that, due to that reason, next year the exhibition space of the fair will be enlarged.
Approximately 700 domestic and 200 foreign publishers from 19 countries are exhibiting books in Halls I and XIV of the Belgrade fairgrounds, and it is expected that the number of visitors this year will surmount 200,000.
