Today, the government of the Republic of Serbia reached an agreement with the representatives of the Association of Freelancers and the Association of Workers on the Internet regarding the manner of paying tax liabilities of the representatives of this industry.

Government, freelancers' associations reach agreement on paying taxes

The government accepted the association's proposal to increase the standard costs from the existing 43 percent to 50 percent.
It was agreed at the meeting that it will enable freelancers to register the years of service in proportion to the paid part of the obligations.
The deadline for the adoption of all legal regulations, which will define the future status of workers on the Internet, has been moved to 1 January 2022, by which time the conditions agreed so far will be valid.
It was also agreed that, in addition to the Association of Workers on the Internet, the Association of Freelancers will appoint its representatives who will participate in the working group tasked with drafting new legal solutions.
Bearing in mind that the government of Serbia has undertaken the obligation that all items agreed at this meeting be fulfilled, the conditions for stopping the freelancers' protest have been met.
