Serbian Deputy Prime Minister Miroljub Labus attended a meeting with a delegation of German businessmen at which he said that Serbia needs new investments to raise the competitiveness of its economy, improve the living standard of its citizens and facilitate the EU accession process.

Having stressed that Germany is one of Serbia’s key political and economic partners, Labus invited German businessmen to keep investing in Serbia.
He familiarised the delegation with the Serbian government’s plans and economic policies, pointing out that it will continue improving Serbia’s business environment, for which it is necessary to have a more efficient judiciary, stronger legal safety and simplified bureaucratic procedures.
Head of the German delegation Klaus Mangold said that German businessmen can help Serbia to continue the implementation of necessary reforms on its way towards the EU.
German businessmen expressed great interest in investing into Serbia, but also pointed to the necessity of a successful continuation of the privatisation process, defining of proprietary relations and increasing the efficiency of the bureaucracy.
