Serbia traditional partner, important destination for Czech investors

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic met today with Czech Minister of Foreign Affairs Tomas Petricek, who is on a visit to Serbia together with a delegation of Czech businessmen and representatives of the country's Chamber of Commerce.

The Prime Minister expressed gratitude for the trust of the Czech government and the investments that come from this country.

She assessed that the overall bilateral relations between the two countries are firm and stable, supported first of all by an open dialogue and bilateral visits of the two countries' top officials.

Prime Minister Brnabic recalled the recent visit of her Czech counterpart Andrej Babis and voiced hope that despite the epidemiological situation, the two countries will maintain a high intensity of bilateral cooperation, mutual visits of top officials and economic cooperation.

The Czech Minister of Foreign Affairs stated that Serbia is a traditional partner and an important destination for Czech investors, to which today's business forum of businessmen of the two countries testifies.

Petricek explained that it is precisely the support of the two governments that gives encouragement to Czech businessmen to invest their capital on this market.

He voiced hope that the economic cooperation will enable a faster and easier recovery of the two economies after the difficult epidemiological situation.

He expressed support of the Czech Republic in the process of European integration of Serbia and pointed out that his country strongly advocates European enlargement.

Serbia is on the European path and committed to reform processes in the field of the rule of law, Brnabic underlined and expressed her belief that the new methodology for accession to the EU will enable a better evaluation of the results achieved.

Brnabic thanked the Czech Republic for its support in this process, as well as for advocating stronger regional cooperation, primarily through work of the Visegrad Group.

When it comes to the epidemiological situation, the Prime Minister voiced support to the government and citizens of the Czech Republic in the fight against the virus and underlined that she expects that the immunisation of the population will give results and that our countries will manage to overcome challenges caused by this health situation.
