Prime Minister Ana Brnabic met today with representatives of the fitness community of Serbia, with whom she discussed the consequences and effects of the coronavirus pandemic on this industry.
The meeting was also attended by Minister of Youth and Sports Vanja Udovicic, as well as representatives of the Ministry of Finance. Fitness workers were represented at the meeting by members of the Association for Recreation and Fitness of Serbia, the Sports Association of Belgrade and the Association of Personal Trainers.
Representatives of the fitness community underlined that they are interested and ready to participate in a campaign for mass immunisation of the population. They expressed the belief that vaccination would help their business return to normal as soon as possible. As advocates of a healthy life, they pointed out that vaccination against the infectious disease Covid-19 completely fits into their agenda and expressed hope for the continuation of this pace of vaccination in Serbia.
The participants in the meeting expressed their readiness to fully respect all epidemiological measures in force, all with the aim of continuing work and business. Their basic requirement is longer working hours so that, in line with epidemiological measures, they could better arrange the time for exercise for their customers, given that most gyms operate on a scheduling basis.
Today's meeting is part of the broader consultations that the Prime Minister and the line ministers have had in the previous days with the representatives of the industries that are most affected by the negative effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
Prime Minister Brnabic met earlier with representatives of the film industry and cinemas, as well as with associations of hairdressers, bars and restaurants and musicians.
