Prime Minister Ana Brnabic talked today via video link with President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Odile Renaud-Basso about continuing joint work on the realisation of projects that will contribute to strengthening the Serbian economy and strengthening the country's competitiveness.

Continuation of cooperation with EBRD on projects for economic growth

Brnabic expressed satisfaction with cooperation to date and pointed out that the EBRD's support significantly affects the development and progress of Serbia, as well as that projects in the field of environmental protection are in the focus of the government of Serbia.
She pointed out that the list of priorities also includes infrastructure projects, youth employment, and especially digitalisation and expressed gratitude to the EBRD for the support in investing in rural broadband internet.
Renaud-Basso underlined that the EBRD continues to support Serbia through projects of vital importance for the country and added that this bank shares the priorities which the Prime Minister mentioned, especially in the field of environmental protection, which is of key importance to the EU.
The EBRD will continue to provide support to the private sector, small and medium enterprises, she stressed and announced new investments in road and railway infrastructure and in renewable energy sources and energy efficiency.
The interlocutors expressed confidence that a well-designed strategy for the implementation of new projects will contribute to economic growth and strengthen Serbia's competitiveness.
The EBRD President congratulated the Prime Minister on the way in which Serbia is fighting the pandemic and on the measures taken, which enabled the economy to survive despite great challenges.
The meeting was also attended by Minister of Finance Sinisa Mali and Minister of Economy Andjelka Atanaskovic.
