New automated stations for better hail defence

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic visited today the radar centre of the Hydrometeorological Institute of Serbia in Bukulja, on the occasion of the completion of the first phase of automated anti-hail stations.

On that occasion, Brnabic said that the first phase was completed with 44 stations out of 104 that were planned, in which RSD 156 million was invested.

The second phase with 60 stations remains to be completed by the end of the year, in which another RSD 246 million will be invested, after which the Bukulja radar centre will be fully automated, said the Prime Minister, explaining that by the end of the year the radar centre will provide protection in the diameter of 90 km and 2,370 hectares.

According to her, she came to this area today to see off the works and to tell the farmers in Topola, Arandjelovac and the surrounding area that the government has fulfilled the promise from 2017.

By the end of the year, we will have fully automated anti-hail protection and we will be able to defend ourselves much better, the Prime Minister said, adding that the construction of radar centres will continue.

Director of RHMZ Jugoslav Nikolic said that the anti-hail stations are fully automated, without the need for shooters, because they are controlled from the radar centre and are a product of domestic technology.
