Work on capital projects continues regularly

During an analysis of the achieved economic results in all areas, it was stated that, despite the problems that arose as a result of the coronavirus pandemic, the work on capital projects continues with the regular dynamics.
These capital projects are, among others, those whose construction is planned to start in the current year, such as the Novi Sad-Ruma expressway (Fruska Gora Corridor), sections of the high-speed railway from Novi Sad to Kelebija, sections of the Nis-Merdare road, New Belgrade-Surcin, Serbia-Bulgaria gas interconnection, as well as projects whose completion is planned for this year.
In addition to traffic infrastructure, the emphasis was on the implementation of projects in the field of environmental protection, especially the construction of wastewater treatment plants and the construction of a sewerage network.
Agriculture was singled out as a special chance for Serbia, and in that context, the line minister pointed out the production of pet food in four factories in Serbia, where a significant increase in exports was recorded, as well as the need to open new markets for pork exports.
The need for the development of green energy and accompanying infrastructure was especially emphasised, as conditions that will need to be fulfilled in the near future in order to attract foreign direct investment and preserve the environment.
