Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Culture and Information Maja Gojkovic met today with members of the Working group for safety and protection of journalists.
The meeting was attend by all members of the Working group from the media and journalist associations, state bodies and independent institutions, as well as representatives of international organisations who support its work.
The Work plan of the Working group for the first six months was presented briefly and it was confirmed that the focus would be on the criminal protection and safety of journalists and the questions of insults, threats and attacks against them.
In line with the Work plan, an agreement was reached to establish a website and application “Safe journalist”, and an SOS phone which will be available to all journalists who feel their physical safety is in danger.
A new meeting of the Working group with Prime Minister Brnabic and Minister Gojkovic is scheduled for 26 February this year.
