Prime Minister Ana Brnabic held an online meeting today with representatives of international financial institutions, which was dedicated to Serbia's progress in implementing reform goals with an emphasis on the Green Agenda.
Prime Minister Brnabic informed her interlocutors about the plans and goals in the areas covered by the Green Agenda and pointed out that this agenda and environmental protection are one of the key priorities.
Establishment of wastewater treatment plants in all major cities, with the help and support of international institutions and funds, improvement of people's quality of life by establishing a solid waste disposal system, as well as the fight against air pollution, the Prime Minister stated as three main goals of the Serbian government.
Head of the World Bank Office in Serbia Stephen Ndegwa expressed satisfaction with the current cooperation on numerous programmes as well as the presented agenda and supported the measures taken by the Serbian government, assessing that it is of great importance that Serbia recognises the importance of the Green Agenda.
Interlocutors from international financial institutions expressed their readiness to further support the Government of Serbia in the realization of goals and through the financing of certain projects within the Green Agenda.
Prime Minister Brnabic expressed her gratitude to the World Bank for the support of development projects and cooperation that has been achieved so far, expressing hope that it will be successfully continued in the future.
The meeting was also attended by the head of the Sector for Cooperation of the EU Delegation to Serbia Ingve Engstrom, Head of AFD Dominique Hautbergue, Head of KfW Head of Kfw Rüdiger Hartmann, Head of IFC Ary Naïm, as well as the Minister of Environmental Protection Irena Vujovic.
