Recalling that the highest officials of Slovenia visited Serbia last year, Brnabic expressed her belief that the visits at the highest level would continue to improve the epidemic situation in both countries.
The Prime Minister pointed out that the COVID-19 pandemic affected societies and economies around the world, permanently changing it, and added that, in that light, strengthening good neighbourly relations and regional initiatives play a significant role in overcoming the current crisis and acting preventively in the future.
She also praised Slovenia's commitment to participating in regional issues, which significantly contributes to the stability of the Western Balkans.
Also, holding joint sessions of the two governments proved to be a good practice, Brnabic pointed out and added that she expected that continuity to continue even after the epidemiological crisis.
The Prime Minister expressed her gratitude to Slovenia for its strong support to Serbia in the process of European integration, primarily at the expert level.
Bergant pointed out that Serbia is a friendly country and that Slovenia is committed to strengthening bilateral relations and continuity of political dialogue.
As he said, Slovenia will continue to provide support to Serbia on its European path, especially in the light of the presidency of the Council of the European Union in the second half of 2021.
When it comes to economic cooperation, the Prime Minister stated that Slovenia is one of the largest investors in Serbia, whose companies employ more than 25,000 workers, and at the same time invited other Slovenian companies to invest in Serbia.
The Ambassador of Slovenia wished a lot of success in the work of the new government of Serbia and expressed confidence that continuity in interstate cooperation will continue, reminding that this year marks the 20th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries.
