The meeting was attended by Ombudsman Zoran Pasalic, member of the Standing Working Group for the Safety of Journalists Veran Matic, Deputy Republic Public Prosecutor Branko Stamenkovic and Chief of the Novi Sad Police Administration Slobodan Malesic.
The Prime Minister stated that the government is expected to adopt an action plan for the implementation of the Media Strategy soon, followed by amendments to the law in that area, in order to establish a system that will really function and respond in a timely and adequate manner to threats and attacks on journalists.
Brnabic emphasised that a single database should be established and that she wants to know that the state has done everything to facilitate a timely response.
Gojkovic pointed out that after the adoption of the action plan, an important job of adopting media laws is ahead whereas Pasalic noted that the adoption of amendments to the law should lead to preventing attacks on journalists.
