Prime Minister Ana Brnabic talked today with Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Serbia Alexander Botsan-Harchenko about the relations between the two countries and cooperation on joint projects, primarily in the field of energy.
During the meeting, they also talked about the epidemiological situation and the measures taken to preserve the health of citizens.
Brnabic said that she expects the continuation of cooperation on the realisation of plans and projects despite the epidemiological situation.
She underlined that she is very satisfied with the implementation of one of the most important infrastructure projects that "Russian Railways" is working on, namely the reconstruction of a high-speed railway from Belgrade to Budapest (the Stara Pazova - Novi Sad section), which is expected to be completed next year.
Brnabic explained that the projects in the field of energy represent a significant segment of the investment plan of Serbia and that the completion of the construction of the gas pipeline is planned by the end of the current year.
The Prime Minister underlined that increasing the capacity for gas storage in the entire country is one of the priorities in the coming period, and that intensive cooperation with Russia will continue on that issue.
When it comes to the current epidemiological situation, the Ambassador of the Russian Federation informed Brnabic about progress of Russian experts in the development of the coronavirus vaccine, which will be available to the citizens of Serbia.
