It was stated at the session that it is extremely important to continue with projects in the field of construction, especially civil engineering, despite the fact that the pandemic caused by COVID-19 led to certain delays.
Prime Minister Brnabic also underlined the importance of the construction of the Serbia-Bulgaria gas interconnection, as well as projects related to environmental protection, the continuation of work on the construction of the Children's Hospital "Tirsova 2", the reconstruction and construction of the Clinical Centre of Serbia and the Clinical Centre of Vojvodina, construction of the highway "Milos Veliki", Moravian Corridor, Ruma-Sabac-Loznica and high-speed railway Belgrade-Novi Sad.
The members of the Council informed the Prime Minister that the results in the agricultural sector are excellent, so this year is expected to be a record year in agricultural production.
It was also emphasized that the ICT sector is one of the branches of the economy that has shown resilience to the COVID crisis and also recorded growth this year.
When it comes to domestic tourism, an increase in the number of domestic tourists was recorded, while, as expected, there was a decrease in the number of foreign tourists who visited Serbia.
It was stated at the session that the government of Serbia continues to implement all projects that, despite the pandemic, have not been interrupted, as well as to make precise plans for the next one, with the goal of Serbia being among the leading countries and economies in Europe in economic growth this year.
According to the projections of the International Monetary Fund, Serbia expects total GDP growth of almost 10 percent by the end of 2022, which will be convincingly the best in Europe, while all other countries in the region will have total growth below five percent, some even falling GDP. and by the end of 2022.
The industry is continuously growing and the opening of new production capacities is expected soon, as well as development centres throughout Serbia, it was emphasized at the session.
Prime Minister Brnabic concluded that the fact that success was achieved in the previous three quarters of this year will have significant positive effects on the economy, which also indicates that the reforms and the vision of the government are yielding results.
