Great potential for partnership between Serbian, Israeli digital communities

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic talked today with the representatives of the Israeli National Defence College about the political and economic situation in Serbia, investments and areas of innovation, demography and geopolitics.

Brnabic pointed out that our two countries are bound by traditional friendship and common history, and that stronger cooperation in the economic field and joint investments would further strengthen these ties.

According to her, it would provide Serbia with valuable experiences of Israel, as one of the most innovative economies and a leader in startups.

She said she recognises great potential in the partnership between the Serbian and Israeli digital communities.

The Prime Minister stated that, thanks to difficult reforms in recent years, Serbia has very good economic results.

Macroeconomic and fiscal consolidation has been achieved, which, as she explained, enables us to more easily fight the crisis caused by the coronavirus pandemic, which has affected the largest economies in the world.

She also pointed out that economic stability has enabled greater investments in the field of education, innovation, infrastructure for startup companies and the IT sector, which in the future she sees as the bearers of the domestic economy.

When it comes to the demographic picture, Brnabic pointed out that brain drain is recognised as a leading problem, not only in Serbia but also in the region, and that the state has taken measures to enable young people to stay and work. they live in their own country.

With that goal, as she explained, the "Return Point" programme was launched, which enables easier return for all those who want to return to Serbia.

According to her, the state will find a mechanism to enable people who returned to Serbia during the pandemic to stay and start a business in their country.

Representatives of the delegation of the Israeli National Defence College, who are continuing their multi-day visit to Serbia, stated that they will bring valuable experiences from Serbia, both on the way the state administration functions and on the state's achievements so far, primarily in the field of economy and innovation.
