At a meeting with a Slovenian delegation headed by Slovenian Minister of Economy Andrej Vizjak, Parivodic pointed out that Slovenia has made around €150 million worth of investment in 2005 alone, and Slovenian partners have confirmed that there has not been a single failed investment.
He said that Slovenia is one of Serbia’s major business partners and pointed out that the total trade in 2004, amounting to approximately $500 million, proves this point.
According to the minister, in the first half of 2005 Serbia’s export to Slovenia was 53 percent bigger than in the same period last year, which is an extremely good sign of a balance in trade.
Serbia had a deficit of approximately 60 percent in trade with Slovenia in 2004, while in the first half of 2005 this deficit reduced to 15 percent, Parivodic said and voiced hope that the Slovenian market will be open for investments from Serbia.
Slovenian Minister of Economy Andrej Vizjak said that one of the goals of the visit of the Slovenian delegation to Belgrade is to improve the already good relations between the two countries.
He pointed out that the trade between Serbia and Slovenia is increasing year in year out, and that the two states should do more to eliminate customs and other barriers.
Slovenia supports Serbia-Montenegro in its efforts to get included into international organisations, both European and world ones, Vizjak concluded.
