The Prime Minister pointed out that the most important type of bilateral cooperation is investments, primarily in the mining and energy sector, in which Canadian companies are traditionally interested, emphasising that more than 50 Canadian companies are currently operating in our market.
Chaba pointed out that investors from Canada recognised Serbia as a very good destination for investments in the field of mining and energy, and expressed confidence that, despite the coronavirus pandemic, additional impetus to the development of economic relations will be a direct flight between Belgrade and Toronto.
This direct connection between the two countries, as she explained, will be of exceptional importance, both for the faster development of relations between our countries, and for the numerous Serbian diaspora in Canada, which is also an important link between the two nations.
The Canadian Ambassador praised the rapid progress in the field of innovation and digitalisation, recognising Serbia as a leader in the region in these areas.
She expressed the expectation that the cooperation between Serbia and Canada will develop in the fields of science and innovation in the future.
