Prime Minister Ana Brnabic stated today that an emergency situation has been introduced in 12 local self-governments in Serbia due to the overflow of rivers due to heavy rainfall.
After the session of the emergency situations team, Brnabic stated that the government will do everything to repair the consequences of the flood as soon as possible and help people.
The Prime Minister explained that the problem arose following extreme precipitation in the previous 48 hours, up to 210 litres per square metre.
All competent services responded on time. Both "Srbijavode" and "Vode Vojvodine" are in contact with the Republic Hydrometeorological Institute, and walls were set up, which prevented greater damage, she said.
