During the meeting, they exchanged experiences in the fight against the pandemic caused by the contagious disease COVID-19, and the officials expressed hope that both countries will soon fully overcome all the challenges and consequences of the pandemic they are currently facing.
Dacic expressed satisfaction with the fact that during the pandemic, in the conditions of closed borders, good cooperation was achieved between the competent institutions of Serbia and Cyprus in terms of repatriation of citizens who wanted to return to their countries.
Christodoulidis stated that Cyprus is considering the possibility of re-establishing air traffic with a selected group of countries.
He pointed out that at this moment, experts and competent institutions are assessing which countries will be on the list of those countries with which Cyprus will re-establish airlines from 9 June, expressing hope that Serbia will soon be on the list. mentioned list.
Dacic pointed out that political relations with Cyprus are of great importance for Serbia, noting that bilateral cooperation is based on strong friendship, historically confirmed closeness and solidarity of the peoples of the two countries.
The officials agreed that there is room for further improvement of regional cooperation by including Cyprus in regional formats, expressing hope that the first trilateral meeting of Serbia, Cyprus and Greece will be held soon.
