Prime Minister Ana Brnabic visited today a factory of Canadian company Magna International in Aleksinac, which started operating today, and which produces seat covers for all car brands.
Brnabic underlined that over 1,000 jobs that this factory will create will help people to stay in this part of Serbia, to live there, work and create families.
She described as very significant that Magna International, after six years of work in Odzaci, has decided to expand its operations in our country and now has come to Aleksinac.
This is the best possible reference for us to continue promoting Serbia, so that Magna’s partners would also see that our country is an excellent place for investment, to come and open their factories and employ people, she said.
The Prime Minister pointed out that in the first quarter of this year, despite the coronavirus-related crisis, the total inflow of foreign direct investment is 3.7% larger than in the same period last year, which is historically the best in that area.
The Canadian Magna uses an existing rented hall in Aleksinac for the work of the factory, whereas construction of a new larger hall, where the entire production will be moved and where approximately 1,000 people will be employed, is planned for the second phase.
