Regional housing programme successful example of cooperation in region

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic addressed today at the opening ceremony of the building for refugee families in Krupanj, within the implementation of the Regional Housing Programme in the Republic of Serbia within Subproject 5.

The programme aims to provide housing and provide for the most vulnerable families from the former Yugoslavia who have the status of refugees. The program is implemented in our country, but also in the Republic of Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina and Montenegro.

On this occasion, Dacic said that moving into apartments already took place in March this year, but that, given the circumstances we had in connection with the fight against the coronavirus epidemic, he now uses the opportunity to congratulate the new tenants.

For you and your families, this is a new beginning, and for us who were involved in the negotiations and implementation of the Regional Housing Programme, this is a kind of humanitarian and moral obligation, said the First Deputy Prime Minister.

1,847 housing units are planned, including 827 apartments in 25 local self-governments.

Dacic announced that we can expect the moving of buildings in Svilajnac, Sevojno, Backi Petrovac and Backa Palanka soon, as well as that the complex of buildings with 276 apartments in Novi Sad has been completed.
