Miroljub Labus
In an interview with Radio B92, Labus said that in two months, or by the end of the year at the latest, the strategic privatisation advisor for NIS will be appointed. He added that large international oil companies are interested in taking part in the privatisation of the Serbian national oil company, and that all internal disputes concerning the privatisation of NIS have been overcome.
"We are entering a process that will enable our refineries to get on their feet because a great challenge is ahead of us," the Deputy Prime Minister said.
Labus announced that the unveiling of the World Bank’s study entitled "Business Climate" will occur at a presentation in Serbia on September 16. The study has been conducted by the World Bank in 154 countries and the fact that the presentation will be held in Serbia is a great acknowledgment to the current government, Labus said.
According to Labus, Serbia was elected to host the event because in the past 12 months it has achieved the greatest progress in relation to the other 153 countries in which the study was carried out, according to the criterion of favourable conditions for opening new firms.
Labus said that this is a sizeable recognition from the World Bank and confirms that this government has made substantial efforts to improve conditions for opening new firms in Serbia.
Labus voiced hope that in the upcoming months businesspeople will use available opportunities and that the economic situation in Serbia will continue to improve.
