The concert was conceived as a prelude to next year’s celebration marking the 250th anniversary of Mozart’s birth.
Starting from July 1, when BELEF officially began, 60 performances in theatrical, musical and visual art were held, and more than 700 artists from Serbia-Montenegro, Europe, Asia, America, Australia and Africa took part in the festival.
There were 24 music concerts of various genres, such as classical music, jazz, rock, pop, and electronic music.
The audience saw nine theatre premieres, among which were “Social Game” by Ivan Lalic, directed by Egov Savin, “Oxygen” by Ivan Viripajev, directed by Tatjana Mandic Rigonat, and “Little Trilogy of Death” directed by Nebojsa Bradic and based on the text by Elfriede Jelinek, a controversial Nobel prize winner.
One of the more attractive parts of the visual programme was a two-day film cycle dedicated to Bruce Lee and entitled “Kung-fu in Bel-ef”, within which about 20 movies, both classical and modern, were shown.
