Government adopts Economic Migration Strategy

The Serbian government adopted today three bills confirming various agreements with Argentina in the field of criminal law.

The government adopted the Bill on confirming the Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Argentina on mutual legal aid in criminal matters, which will provide for efficient legal cooperation between the state bodies of the two countries.

The Bill on confirming the Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Argentina on the transfer of the convicted persons and cooperation in the execution of criminal penalties was also adopted.

The government adopted the Bill on confirming the Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Argentina on extradition, so that the persons prosecuted in one country or already convicted could not escape the trial or the serving of the sentence by fleeing to the other country.

With the same goal, the Bill on confirming the Agreement between the Republic of Serbia and the Republic of Belarus on extradition was adopted today.

The government passed the Economic Migration Strategy of the Republic of Serbia for the 2021-2027 period. With this document, the government is trying to establish an efficient prevention of emigration of citizens to other countries and encourage the return of professionals from the diaspora, as well as to create a business and economic environment for the arrival of foreign experts.

The Strategy of Smart Specialisation in the Republic of Serbia for the 2020-2027 period was adopted, as a strategic approach to economic development, through targeted support to research, development and innovation activities.

The government also adopted the Digital Skills Development Strategy in the Republic of Serbia for the 2020-2024 period, aimed at using the potential of the modern information and communication technologies to raise the quality of life of citizens, increase employment and work efficiency, which in turn will improve the economic status of the entire society.

The Holy Trinity Church and the old school in Cerovac near Smederevska Palanka, which make up a complex of vernacular architecture from the first half of XIX century, have been declared a monument of culture by the decision of the government.
