Prime Minister Ana Brnabic, who is attending the World Economic Forum in Davos, stated today that Serbia has been recognised at this event as a forward-looking country in terms of economic development, politically and in every other way.

In addition to meetings with officials and representatives of companies which are present in Serbia or are interested in learning more about our country, Brnabic also took part in two panels as part of the forum.
The Prime Minister told the press that at the panel which was an informal meeting of the leaders dedicated to the Fourth Industrial Revolution and Development, a great attention was paid to Serbia and the fact that the World Economic Forum has decided to open the world’s first regional centre for the Fourth Industrial Revolution in Serbia.
Everybody wants to hear what Serbia has done over the past three or four years in terms of technological development, digitalisation and eGovernment. I am especially glad, and all citizens should feel honoured that Serbia has been recognised as a country that has boldly embarked on digitalisation, the Prime Minister said.
The second panel dealt with innovation and environmental protection.
She said that there she had an opportunity to meet important people and to invite them to come to Serbia and help us resolve more efficiently the problem of environmental pollution, environmental protection and improvement, which is not a problem only in Serbia, but in the whole world.
As an example of how governments can directly influence environmental protection, she mentioned the introduction of eGovernment and the fact that since the beginning of 2017 until today Serbia saved 10,340 trees from being cut because it printed less paper.
We saved around 517 tons of paper owing to eGovernment, the Prime Minister underlined.
She said that everyone was fascinated by this fact and that with this Serbia showed that it cares about the environment. She added that the goal of introduction of eGovernment was both to offer better services to citizens and to improve environmental protection.
The Prime Minister, who is attending the 50th annual meeting of the World Economic Forum in Davos, met today with German Chancellor Angela Merkel and she also had a series of meetings with representatives of world companies – President of Visa company Ryan McInerney and CEO of Google Jigsaw Jared Cohen.
Brnabic also spoke with President of Colombia Ivan Duque Markez about bilateral relations of the two countries.
