Text of media strategy unanimously agreed on

Belgrade, 21 January 2020

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic today met with members of the Working Group on Media Strategy Development and representatives of media and journalist associations, who informed her that the text of this document was unanimously agreed on without separate opinions, with the consensus of all parties involved in this proceeding.

The members of the Working Group considered the comments and suggestions submitted by the relevant ministries and agreed on the text of the document, which will now be submitted to the government of the Republic of Serbia for adoption, in accordance with the procedure.

Brnabic expressed her gratitude to all members of the Working Group for their dedicated work during the preparation of this important document, which should provide a framework for improving the media scene in Serbia.

At the proposal of the Prime Minister, it was agreed that the same working group, after adopting the strategy, continue to work on developing an action plan for a period of three years.

The Prime Minister also thanked representatives of international organizations – the OSCE Mission to Serbia, the EU Delegation to Serbia, the Embassy of the Kingdom of Norway and the Konrad Adenauer Foundation, for their continued support for the whole process.

The meeting was attended by OSCE Deputy Head of Mission Joseph Mellot, representatives of the EU Delegation to Serbia and the Norwegian Embassy.
