Prime Minister Ana Brnabic stated that the Serbian government adopted today the Bill on the origin of assets and sent it to the Parliament for debate, as well as the Artificial Intelligence Development Strategy in the Republic of Serbia for the period 2020-2025.

Brnabic said at a press conference at the Serbian government that the law on the origin of assets has been waited for for decades, that many were announcing it, but that until now there has been no political will to deal with this issue.
She said that she expects a good and open debate in the Serbian parliament on this law that will apply equally to all citizens of Serbia and that she is looking forward to that debate.
This is a message that Serbia is a different country and that there is a political will to change things, that the laws be equal for all and that there are no privileged, Brnabic underlined.
The Prime Minister explained that the law envisages setting up a special department within the Tax Administration which will check up on everyone, first and foremost politicians and the political elite, and the law will apply to everyone whose property is disproportionate to their earnings.
Government adopted Artificial Intelligence Development Strategy
Speaking about the Artificial Intelligence Development Strategy in Serbia from 2020 to 2025, also adopted today, Brnabic said that this sends a message that Serbia does not lag behind the world and the developed countries, that it has potential to understand trends and to keep up with the trendsetters.
According to Brnabic, the aim is to raise the standard of living of all citizens and to invest in the future of the country since various studies show that the artificial intelligence could significantly increase the rate of economic growth in the next 15 years.
We want a Serbia that will use this in the best possible way and give an opportunity to its citizens to become richer and to have a better standard of living, the Prime Minister underlined and added that Serbia is the first country in southeastern Europe to have such a strategy.
She expressed gratitude to the members of the working group and all those who took part in the adoption of this strategy.
