Prime Minister Ana Brnabic attended a WORLD.MINDS conference in Zurich today and assessed that her participation at this event is an additional recognition to Serbia as one of the peacemakers in the Balkans, which seeks to bring new stability and reality to Europe.

Brnabic spoke at the conference together with the 7th President of the Republic of South Africa, Frederik de Klerk, who shared the Nobel Peace Prize with Nelson Mandela in 1993, which, as she said in a statement to the Tanjug Agency, is proof that we can offer real values to the world.
In addition to the Prime Minister and Klerk, George Friedman, the founder of the Geopolitical Future publication and a global expert on geopolitical forecasts and the field of international relations, participated in the debate.
The Prime Minister recalled Friedman's remark that "nothing is forgotten and forgiven in the Balkans" and added that this is exactly what Serbia is trying to change.
We are trying to open a new page and start forgiving so that new generations can have more promising Balkans, Brnabic said.
The conference was also an opportunity for the Prime Minister to warn that the world is becoming a more complex and increasingly difficult place and that there are almost no rules anymore, so the survival of the WTO is called into question.
We are witnessing trade wars between the US and the EU, which imposed sanctions on Russia, tensions between the US and China, a lot of tense relations between the EU and China, which put all countries such as Serbia in a difficult position, the Prime Minister said and added that that is why it is important for Serbia to remain independent, to remain open to all investors from all over the world and to place our products across the globe.
We are managing to do that and we are proud of that, she said, adding that she used this opportunity to say that that the world should return to believing in the freedom of movement of goods, capital and services and competitiveness as core values that brought peace, welfare and economic prosperity to Europe for the longest time in history.
According to Brnabic, Serbia deeply believes that the basic values are that all people are equal, that the four basic freedoms are a way for the world to remain a peaceful place, and that dialogue is the most important and that democracy can be saved with even more democracy if problems arise.
The Prime Minister also said that Serbia had worked hard to establish a partnership with WM, and that the result is that Serbia is the only country besides Switzerland to hold these gatherings at which world-changing ideas are discussed.
She announced that the next event in Belgrade will be held in 2021, with even greater participation of Nobel Prize winners and Serbian scientists.
