Secanj, Zitiste health centres and Cetinje hospital to receive Japanese donations

Serbian Deputy Minister of Health Nevena Karanovic and Japanese Ambassador to Serbia-Montenegro Ryuichi Tanabe signed today, at the Serbian government building, a Japanese government contract on a donation to Serbia-Montenegrin health institutions for the purpose of improving the emergency medical care system.
The health centres in Secanj and Zitiste, and the Cetinje general hospital will receive medical equipment worth $234,000, consisting of an ambulance, an ECG apparatus, a sterilizer, an ultrasound, and operating room equipment.
Tanabe pointed out, while expressing the hope that this donation will strengthen the friendly ties of the two countries, that the Japanese government strives to improve the medical protection system in Serbia-Montenegro and to provide support to central Banat, which was recently stricken by floods.
The Japanese government has allocated $14 million for the Serbia-Montenegrin health sector to date.
