Prime Minister Ana Brnabic attended a memorial service today at the Mathematics High School in Belgrade following the death of Mihajlo Sporic, one of Serbia's best young physicists.
"Thank you for everything you did so young for your country, for Serbia. Thank you for representing us. Thank you for showing the most beautiful face of Serbia to the whole world. Thank you for the example you gave us – how to live and how to fight. With the utmost respect, Ana Brnabic," the Prime Minister wrote in the book of mourning.
Mihajlo Sporic was a physics student at Trinity College, University of Cambridge, and passed away on 7 November this year at the age of 22, after a long illness.
He was buried today in the Alley of Meritorious Citizens at the New Cemetery in Belgrade. The proposal for him to be buried in that place was sent to the City of Belgrade by Prime Minister Brnabic.
