Gratitude to China for support on Kosovo issue

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic spoke today in Belgrade with Politburo member and Director of the National Supervisory Commission of the People's Republic of China Yang Xiadou and underlined that the relations between the two countries are at the highest level.

Brnabic said that Serbia is especially proud of having the largest number of contracted projects within the One Belt, One Road Initiative and that the citizens of our country already feel the benefits of this initiative in their daily lives.

Through the One Belt, One Road Initiative, the first Chinese bridge in Europe has been built in Serbia and our citizens can already see the motorways and railways we are building together through the "17 + 1" mechanism, the Prime Minister said and expressed her hope that cooperation will increase in both innovation and technology.

The Prime Minister reiterated her gratitude to China for its continued support for Serbia's territorial integrity and support to the issue of Kosovo-Metohija, noting that this issue is emotional and very important for the Serbian government.

Serbia, she said, supports the One China policy and that will remain our country's position.

Yang Xiadou noted that China and Serbia are geographically distant, but that there is a traditional friendship between the two nations, noting that special progress in bilateral relations has been made in recent years.
