Continuation of successful cooperation with Ohio National Guard

Belgrade, 11 September 2019

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic met today with members of a delegation of the Ohio National Guard, led by Commander Maj. Gen. John C. Harris.

During the talks, the desire was expressed to continue the successful cooperation of our country with the Ohio National Guard, since one of Serbia's foreign policy priorities is the improvement of all areas of cooperation with the United States of America.

Brnabic said that, in the future, positive examples of historical alliance should continue to be highlighted as well as the work in areas of common interest with the aim of strengthening relations between the two parties.

The state partnership with the Ohio National Guard, as one of the most dynamic components of bilateral cooperation, is part of our side's efforts to improve overall relations through concrete forms of integration.

The Prime Minister previously visited Ohio and Georgia in January this year and met with the top leadership of the Ohio National Guard.

On this occasion, the importance of the State Partnership Program (PDP) of Serbia and Ohio was confirmed, which has been implemented for 13 years through excellent cooperation between the Serbian Army and the Ohio National Guard.

In addition to emphasising the importance of military-military and civil-military cooperation within the PDP, the desire of our side is to affirm and enhance civil-civil cooperation.

Brnabic underlined that Serbia is interested in improving economic cooperation in all areas of common interest, and expressed her satisfaction that a large number of important US companies do business in Serbia.

The meeting was also attended by Chief of the General Staff of the Serbian Armed Forces General Milan Mojsilovic and US Ambassador to Serbia Kyle Scott.
