Successful cooperation of Serbia, Luxembourg in various fields

Belgrade, 5 September 2019

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic spoke today with the newly-appointed Ambassador of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg to Serbia on a non-residential basis, Philip Donkel, and wished him a lot of success during his term in office.

Brnabic expressed her satisfaction that on 9-10 September, at the invitation of Prime Minister Xavier Bettel, she will make an official return visit to Luxembourg.

On that occasion, Brnabic and her host, Prime Minister Bettel, will continue talks on specific areas of cooperation that began during his visit to Belgrade.

During her visit to Luxembourg, the Prime Minister will also meet with Grand Duke Henri and President of the Chamber of Deputies Fernand Etgen.

The Prime Minister will also attend a ceremony marking the 75th anniversary of the liberation of Luxembourg in World War II.

Brnabic and Donkel stated that the bilateral relations between the two countries are excellent, without open issues, and that the forthcoming visit of Brnabic to Luxembourg will certainly contribute to the further deepening of cooperation.

The interlocutors agreed that cooperation between the two countries has been successful in different fields, and that the political dialogue in recent years has recorded a constant trend of improvement.

The Prime Minister expressed her gratitude to Luxembourg for its support to Serbia's EU accession process so far, and expressed its expectation that the country would continue to advocate within the EU that the reforms that Serbia is implementing be given adequate recognitio.
