Improving rights of veterans through new law

Belgrade, 30 August 2019

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic discusses today a Draft Law on the Rights of Soldiers, Disabled Veterans, Civilian Disabled Veterans and Family Members, with Representatives of Veterans 'and War Veterans' Associations, Families of Fallen Veterans, Civilians with Disabilities war, fighters in the the Second World War, as well as representatives of associations for nurturing the traditions of liberation wars.

Brnabic stressed at the meeting that the new law would not deny any existing rights enjoyed by beneficiaries of the mentioned categories, and stressed that the law would be in their service, in order to provide additional opportunities.

Finally, we have one law that will help you as users know what is available to you, more transparently and in one place, she underlined.

According to Brnabic, a public hearing was conducted in 13 cities in Serbia in order to hear all opinions and create a law that meets the needs of all users covered by this document.

She added that all those who fought for our country and contributed to the preservation of history and tradition should not be forgotten.

The government, she said, will continue to pay particular attention and advance the status of this category of citizens and their families, trying to provide them with all they deserve.

The meeting was also attended by State Secretary of the Ministry of Labour, Employment, Veteran and Social Affairs Nenad Neric and Assistant Minister Zoran Milosevic.
