Prime Minister Ana Brnabic today met with representatives of the Metal and Chemical Industry Association of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce to discuss ways to set a framework for a more dynamic and sustainable economic growth in the country.

Cooperation of government, businessmen to bring greater economic growth

Brnabic told businessmen that this is the beginning of a continuous, direct cooperation, whose ultimate goal is to achieve higher added value industrial production through reform of the legal system, reform of the education system and stimulated measures.
At the meeting, directors and business owners, as well as business system presidents presented to the Prime Minister and government members obstacles encountered in the business, emphasising the lack of adequate staff, noting that the dual education system proved to be very good.
They also pointed to the lengthy waiting time for various permits to be issued, as well as the lengthy and complicated procedures, especially at borders, when it comes to documentation accompanying goods.
Businessmen are unanimous in the opinion that reform of the education system is necessary to keep up with the needs of the economy, and in this connection the Prime Minister pointed out that the introduction of dual education in higher education is also being prepared.
Serbian Chamber of Commerce President Marko Cadez said that integrated border crossings, which will soon be established with North Macedonia, significantly facilitate the smooth flow of goods to and from Serbia.
Brnabic announced that such crossings would soon be established with Albania and Bosnia-Herzegovina.
She added that today's meeting, the first in a series planned with other associations of the Serbian Chamber of Commerce and the government, marks the beginning of the formation of working groups of representatives of the government and the Serbian Chamber of Commerce.
