Ivana Dulic-Markovic, left, and Velimir Ilic at today's press conference
Ilic told a press conference following yesterday’s government session that the government has managed to create conditions for the agency to operate as an independent regulator and he pointed out that all the members of the agency are non-partisan.
Ilic also voiced hope that the agency will audit all the broadcasting licenses issued over the past few years given that numerous irregularities have been detected in that process.
Also, given the large number of foreign flights through Serbia’s airspace, the government could consider a possibility of setting aside a portion of receipts from charges for the use of Serbia’s airspace to modernise the hail protection system.
Minister of Agriculture, Forestry, and Water Management Ivana Dulic-Markovic said that the government adopted the decree on subsidising the production and the storing of wheat harvested in 2005 and a decree amending the decree on the programme of measures to encourage agricultural production development in 2005.
She said that the government endorsed the ministry’s proposal to limit the support to wheat farmers in 2005 to those who are registered in the national farm register as individuals.
According to the decree, a registered farmer will be entitled to receive 5,000 dinars per hectare of wheat sowed.
Also, those who are in the business of storing wheat are entitled to a subsidy of 750 dinars per tonne as well as to a short-term loan of 12,000 dinars per hectare for financing the autumn sowing season.
