Brnabic meets with Merkel on sidelines of Poznan summit

Earlier today at the meeting of heads of government of the Western Balkans, Merkel praised the region's progress, but she singled out Serbia and pointed out that our country has made a very positive development.
Brnabic also met with European Transport Commissioner Violeta Bulc.
Speaking to reporters, the Prime Minister said that the countries of the region must focus more on what they can do with each other and move away from populism since it is the easiest to be populists, but that is not good for the region, citizens and our European integration.
We have to be more rational, pragmatic, courageous, and we must not make populist decisions, because this will cause the region which is, unfortunately, still sensitive, not to be attractive to Europe and investors, the Prime Minister said.
She also expressed the expectation that the focus during Croatia’s EU presidency will be the enlargement of the Union, as previously announced by Prime Minister of that country Andrej Plenkovic, who is expected to visit Belgrade soon.
