The Permanent Secretariat of the Transport Community, headquartered in Belgrade, will open on 13 September, it was announced today at the meeting of Serbian Prime Minister Ana Brnabic and EU Commissioner for Transport Violeta Bulc in Poznań, where the EU-Western Balkans Summit, held in the framework of the Berlin Process, is being held.

Prime Minister Brnabic pointed out that this will be the first regional organisation based in Belgrade, noting that it is a great honour that the EU recognised all the efforts that Serbia is investing in connecting the region and modernising the traffic infrastructure.
The European Union Commissioner praised Prime Minister Brnabic for all the results and her personal commitment to strengthening regional cooperation through concrete projects, especially in the area of transport infrastructure.
Bulc pointed out that three points in the European Union's focus – more efficient border crossings, rail development and road safety.
She also praised the end of the southern arm of the Corridor 10, while Prime Minister Brnabic told Bulc that the eastern corner of Corridor 10 is being finished and that the construction of the Belgrade-Budapest highway is under way, and that the construction of the highway is expected to begin to Bosnia-Herzegovina.
The Prime Minister presented the identification card to the first director of the Permanent Secretariat of the Transport Community in Belgrade, Alen Baron, in accordance with the Agreement on the seat of the Transport Community.
Serbia and the European Commission signed an agreement in January this year confirming that the headquarters of the transport community will be in Belgrade.
