Pristina tariffs most brutal act against human rights, freedoms

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said today that the tariffs introduced by Pristina on the goods from central Serbia are a non-civilization act and the most brutal act against human rights and freedom of the Serbian and other non-Albanian population in Kosovo-Metohija.

Responding to the questions of deputies in the Serbian parliament, Brnabic said that the Serbian government will continue to fight for the Serbs who live there.

I hope that everyone in the entire region will at least respect the basics of civilization standards that Pristina absolutely does not respect at this time, the Prime Minister said.

Speaking about privatisation of RTB Bor, she said that the company increased the production of cathode copper in May by 40.7 percent in relation to the same month last year, which is the result of a good and successful privatization.

Responding to the question of MP Muamer Zukorlic about the functioning of the Bosniak National Council, Brnabic said that Serbia will not react to the provocation of Sulejman Ugljanin who, according to her, is changing his mind depending on whether he is in power or not.

Zukorlic asked the Ministry of Public Administration and Local Self-Government what they will do to finally bring order in the Bosniak National Council since in the last few days there is a culmination of lawlessness happening there.

Brnabic responded that this is a very complex and sensitive issue and underlined that the Serbian government is proud of the fact that it abides by not only European, but world standards when it comes to national minorities.

The Prime Minister stated that in Serbia there are local governments in which 15 official languages are in use.

Speaking about the remarks that a small number of Albanians are employed in the civil service, she stressed that it is important that those who want to work in republic or local authorities must know the language of the country in which they live, and since this is not the case, it is difficult to be employed.

The Prime Minister asked the Albanian minority not to boycott the next census of the population in Serbia, as was the case in the previous census.

She added that Serbia made a significant step forward in many fields, but the step forward made in the field of education and reforms is so great that our country has become one of the leaders in Europe.

Brnabic assessed that education in Serbia is exactly as the education in the 21st century should look like, and added that much has been done in that area, with the support of the civil sector and the economy.

The Prime Minister stressed that much has been done in the fields of infrastructure, healthcare infrastructure, judiciary, social protection and social rights.

She announced that she will hold a press conference on 1 July at which a report will be presented on what the government has done in the past two years and what challenges are ahead of it today.
