Bilateral relations with Norway good, stable

Belgrade, 24 June 2019

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic spoke today with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Norway Ine Marie Eriksen Søreide about overall bilateral relations between the two countries.

Brnabic assessed that bilateral relations are good and stable and that they are characterised by continuous cooperation and the exchange of visits at the highest level.

The two officials also spoke about the improvement of cooperation in the field of culture.

The Prime Minister pointed out that Norway’s help is very important to Serbia when it comes to overcoming the stalemate in the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina.

She pointed out that Serbia is ready to resume talks on reaching a compromise solution as soon as Pristina withdraws the unilaterally imposed tariffs and that the current situation only increases tensions throughout the region.

Søreide confirmed that dialogue is the only way to tackle tensions and find an acceptable solution for both sides.

Speaking about the relations between the two countries, she said that they are very good and expressed expectation that they will continue to develop in the future through cooperation in all important segments.

The Minister also expressed satisfaction with the progress of the reforms and expressed full support to Serbia on the European path.

Brnabic expressed her gratitude for the support to the European integration and donations that the Government of the Kingdom of Norway provides to Serbia.
