Prime Minister Ana Brnabic visited the company Japan Tobacco International (JTI) in Senta on the occasion of commissioning a new production line at the plant and marking the company's 20 years of existence on a global scale.

Brnabic said that JTI was one of the five companies that paid the highest amount to the Serbian budget, and expressed the belief that the new plant, in which $3 million was invested, would contribute to this further.
In Serbia, there is a growing number of Japanese investments, she stressed, and expressed her gratitude to the said company for recognising in our country the potential for investment and a reliable and predictable partner.
Vojvodina Prime Minister Igor Mirovic pointed out that JTI invested $180 million since entering the Serbian market.
President of the tobacco division of the JTI Group Mutsuo Iwai said that the plant in Senta was one of the best-performing plants on a global scale, assessing that the new plant is another step forward in business in Serbia.
JTI in Serbia has been operating since 2006, when it bought the Tobacco Industry in Senta. This company is one of the most successful in our country and the only foreign factory that purchases domestic tobacco.
