In a statement to Tanjug, Brnabic said that the government has long worked to bring the WORLD.MINDS organisation to Serbia, since the annual Congress that gathers the world leaders in the fields of economy, culture, architecture, medicine, agriculture has been held exclusively in Zurich.
This is the first time that they are coming out of Switzerland and it is a great pleasure and honour to have them in Belgrade, she said.
She said that the Belgrade conference shows Serbia in a different way, because the participants, many of whom have never been in our country, have the opportunity to see it in the right light, but also to get to know Serbian innovators, talents, thinkers, business people.
This is a unique world opportunity for networking of our young people, scientists, innovators, owners of startup companies and companies and I am sure that after this our partners from the world will look at Serbia differently, as a potential destination for investing in research, development and innovation, Brnabic pointed out.
The Prime Minister pointed out that potential investors and significant businessmen from all over the world are present in Belgrade today, expressing the belief that Serbian innovators and scientists will show their ideas and patents and that ideas about financing their projects will be born.
She reminded that the government last year changed the legal framework and introduced tax incentives for innovation and investment in science, research and development.
Today, Serbia is one of the most competitive European countries in terms of tax rates for companies investing in innovation, knowledge and research and development, and it has been presented to foreign guests, said Brnabic, adding that she will hold meetings in the government with some of the participants tomorrow and added she believes that a large number of them will be interested to invest in our country.
