At the Digital Day 2019 conference in Belgrade, Brnabic recalled that two years ago in her keynote address when she assumed the post of the prime minister, she stated that the two main priorities of the government were digitisation and education and assessed that Serbia today is a very different state.
Speaking about how digitisation is changing society and the state, Brnabic said that this is a very interesting time and that the present-day generation is privileged to live in a time of the new industrial revolution.
This revolution will change the world in the same way the previous revolutions changed it, only that this one will do it faster than ever, the Prime Minister said and added that the countries that did not win in the 3rd Industrial Revolution now have the chance to correct it in the new, 4th Industrial Revolution.
According to Brnabic, we live in a time when we have a new chance to change the economy and become one of the winners of the time.
Serbia has the potential and knowledge and we just need to make the legal framework firmer and I think we will be able to race with the most advanced countries of the world, the Prime Minister said.
She pointed out that trust is most difficult to establish at the time when the changes are the greatest.
I think that two years ago citizens had great distrust in digitisation. If you keep up-to-date and go along with the changes, you will have more chances to finish what you wanted earlier. Confidence is being established step by step, Brnabic said.
The Prime Minister also underlined that today many services are available to citizens which have made it easier for them to a great degree to finish various obligations and chores, such as registering a newborn straight away at a maternity ward, obtaining prescriptions for medicines, enrolling children in kindergartens and many other.
