Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said today at a ceremony marking the jubilee 175th anniversary of the establishment of the first state museum in Serbia - the National Museum in Belgrade, that culture is necessary in the 21st century if we want to have a strong and advanced society and economy.

After the opening of the exhibition "Petar Ubavkic - works from the collection of the National Museum in Belgrade" in the atrium of this cultural institution, Brnabic stated that the National Museum preserves our past and tradition and will preserve our future.
Today, we want to build a society based on knowledge, creativity, innovation. For this, we need two pillars - culture and education, Brnabic explained.
She stated that she is proud that she is Prime Minister of a government that placed culture, arts and education at the very heart of its activity, since the renovated buildings of the National Museum and the Museum of Contemporary Art in Belgrade were reopened in the first year of its mandate.
Today we have a whole series of projects that we believe are important in order to give a signal to the whole society about how important our culture is to us, the Prime Minister underlined and expressed her hope that the Vranje theatre will be opened in September.
