The Prime Minister stated that in Serbia there are companies that have recognised opportunities and have started to compete successfully in the global market, so the export of ICT services is now the largest export branch of Serbia, higher than agriculture, cars and machines.
She noted that in the first two months of this year, the growth of ICT sector exports was again strong, as much as 34.7%, reminding that last year this export grew 26.2% compared to 2017, while in 2017, export growth was 21.6% compared to 2016.
The Prime Minister stated that innovation and digitisation provide more money for citizens, economy and the state budget, as well as better quality of life of citizens through more comfortable, efficient and faster services.
Brnabic also emphasised that education is crucial for us to become involved and competitive.
She said that because of this, a major reform of education was launched in Serbia, and programming was introduced as a compulsory subject from the 5th grade of elementary school, schools now have safe internet, digital textbooks and wider capacities of technical universities were introduced, and in addition, the IT re-training process started.
Today, Serbia is a country that is not afraid of innovation, but is open to change, she underlined.
