National Library of Serbia becomes European Library member

Head of the National Library of Serbia Sreten Ugricic said that this institution today became a regular member of the European Library, which currently consists of only 12 national libraries out of the 43 who are members of the Association of European Libraries.
Ugricic recalled that the creation of the European Library is the most important and ambitious project of the European national libraries, which was initiated with the main objective of developing a common electronic catalogue and a digital library, which would represent a treasury of European cultural heritage.
According to him, users will in the following three years have access to and search of the 12 catalogues of the national libraries on each individual language of the full members of the project.
