The document regulates the restoration, conservation and digitisation of bilateral and multilateral treaties signed by Serbia or its predecessors, which are kept in the building of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The collection, which contains more than 12,000 international agreements, consists of some 9,500 bilateral and 2,500 multilateral agreements, and the oldest one, the Treaty of the Alliance between Serbia and Romania, dates back to 1868.
A significant number of international treaties dates from the second half of the 19th century and speak of the contractual capacity of modern Serbia, that is, the newly acquired attributes of its sovereignty and international legal subjectivity.
The material will be preserved and protected for the decades to come, and through its digital copy and microfilming, its permanent storage will be ensured.
