Prime Minister Ana Brnabic said today during a meeting with Italian Ambassador to Serbia Carlo Lo Cascio that the strategic partnership of the two countries is best manifested in the field of economic cooperation, since Italy is one of the most important investors and foreign trade partners of Serbia.

Brnabic pointed to the importance of the upcoming visit of Prime Minister of Italy Giuseppe Conte to Serbia, scheduled for 6 March, as the first bilateral visit of the current Italian prime minister to a European country this year.
The Prime Minister recalled that Italy is one of the most important economic partners of Serbia, with a large number of companies already operating on our market, which is also confirmation of a stable business environment, good conditions and incentives offered to foreign companies.
Lo Cascio stated that his country will continue to strongly support the European path of Serbia and the region, and that the visit of the Italian prime minister will mark a new phase of political dialogue between the two countries, which he expects to result in a stronger strategic partnership.
Brnabic expressed gratitude to the Italian Ambassador for the continued support of that country to the European integration of Serbia, to the one coming from the highest political level, but also to the one which is being realised through numerous training and development assistance programmes.
The Prime Minister underlined that Belgrade faces enormous challenges in the dialogue with Pristina, which is currently at a standstill, and told Italian Ambassador that Serbia's priority is to find through compromise a lasting and sustainable solution to the issue of Kosovo-Metohija.
