Online application for parental allowance available throughout Serbia

Prime Minister Ana Brnabic attended today the presentation of completion of the first part of the project "Baby, Welcome to the World", where it was announced that, owing to the continuation of this project, parents will be able to apply online for parental allowance, while the mother and the baby are still at maternity ward.

During the first part of the project, it was made possible for the parents to register their newborn baby into the birth register, register its place of residence and submit an application for the baby's health card while still at the maternity ward, while now, in the second phase of the project, this service also includes the possibility to apply for parental allowance online.

Brnabic said that this is not all and that the third phase of the project will be connecting with the health system, that parents do not have to bring personally a certificate of vaccination and a certificate on the completed preparatory programme upon enrolling the child in an elementary school.

This saves times to the parents, who until now had to go to six-seven counters and lose around seven hours to collect all the necessary documents, the Prime Minister explained.

The aim of the Serbian government is to be a service for citizens and to abolish the unnecessary red tape. That is why we abolished the Directorate for E-Administration and made a centralised Office for Information Technologies and E-Government within the Serbian government, the Prime Minister underlined.
