Prime Minister Ana Brnabic assessed today during the talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Arab Republic of Egypt Sameh Hassan Shoukry that two nations are connected by traditionally friendly relations, which are a good basis for improving cooperation at all levels.

Serbia interested in investments, joint projects with Egypt

Brnabic said that the most important is to work to improve economic cooperation and connect the economies of the two countries and added that Serbia is interested in investments and joint projects with Egypt.
The two officials agreed that the certificate that Serbia obtained for the first time in thirty years for the export of Serbian wheat on the Egyptian market is very important for both sides, given the great agricultural potential of Serbia, but also the need of Egypt for this staple food.
Other topics discussed were the potentials of cooperation in the field of tourism and the possibilities of establishing a direct flight between Belgrade and Cairo, which would strengthen the ties between the two countries and nations.
Given the importance of the fight against terrorism, Egypt's foreign minister stressed that he expects further strengthening of defence cooperation.
The Prime Minister underlined that Serbia highly appreciates the support of Egypt at the international level and expressed gratitude for the country’s abstention during the voting for admission of the so-called Kosovo to Interpol at the General Assembly in Dubai.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt said that his country will continue to pursue a policy of "frozen recognition" and support the continuation of the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina in order to reach a final compromise solution.
He voiced expectation that the bilateral cooperation of the two countries will continue to get stronger and invited Prime Minister Brnabic to visit Egypt as soon as possible.
